When water is pumped at ultra-high pressure, about 60,000 psi, into a self-aliging cutting head driven by a CNC control system. It creates enough energy to accelerate the natural erosion process through a gauged orifice at three times the speed of sound, mixes with abrasive and generates the needed energy to cut a variety of soft materials including paper, rubber and foam to hard materials like metal, granite, marble and glass. Water cutting processes produce net-shape parts with no heat affected zone, heat distortion or mechanical stresses caused by other cutting process.
